Jonathan Mills

Jonathan Mills

BVM&S MRCVS

Jonathan is a native of Yorkshire, he graduated from Edinburgh University in 1993 and joined the practice in August of that year. He is still here. Jonathan has particular interests in the technical aspects of the work (cardiology, radiology, ultrasonography, etc). His enjoyment of the Yorkshire countryside also maintains his enthusiasm for equine and farm work regardless of the weather. He's a very keen skier and when skiing isn't an option, will make do with a bit of mountain biking instead.

Graham Barlow

Graham was born in Manchester but brought up from the age of six in North Yorkshire in Pannal. He spent a lot of time on a friend’s farm at Dacre in Nidderdale while he was at primary school and this began his interest in farming. He trained at The Royal Veterinary College in London and worked in mixed practice in Wiltshire and West Sussex before returning home and becoming a partner at Forest House in 2001. He holds The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s Certificate in Cattle Health and Production. There are only about eighty vets in the country with this qualification. He enjoys all aspects of mixed practice and lives with Anna, William and Olivia in Nidderdale. They have two ponies, two Jack Russells, a rabbit and chickens. He can occasionally be seen supporting Olivia at pony club events.

Edward Hollinshead

Edward qualified from Glasgow University in 2014 and spent his first 2 years in mixed practice in his home county of Cheshire. He enjoys all aspects of mixed practice, particularly anything surgical. Outside of work he likes to be outside hiking or boxing somewhat unsuccessfully.

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

Lianne qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2008 and has been with us now for since 2010. She has a keen interest in weight management, rabbits and physiotherapy. She is currently studying for her Veterinary Nurse Rehabilitation Therapy certificate.  During her spare time she enjoys reading and looking around old ruins.

Genna first joined the practice for work experience in July 2011. She really enjoyed her time with us, and was offered the position of Saturday receptionist in July 2012. Since then she has chosen a career in Veterinary nursing and started her training in September 2013. This includes two full days of practical training with us, and two full days at Askham Bryan College. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding and would eventually like to specialise in equine nursing. She also has a keen interest in sport and a good knowledge of football!

Julia qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2002 and joined us at Forest House in July 2016. Julia has a keen interest in surgery and particularly enjoys interacting with our clients and patients. Julia lives in Harrogate with her husband and two cats; a mainecoon called Hubble and a small DSH called Jamie. During her spare time, Julia enjoys sewing, creating art, gardening at home and tending to her beloved vegetables at the allotment.

Stephanie Bull

Stephanie Bull

Practice Manager

Stephanie joined Forest House Vets in July 2016. Stephanie has worked within the veterinary pharmaceutical industry as a pig specialist and has also lectured in Animal Science. Stephanie is responsible for managing the practice accounts and the day to day running of the office and surgery. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading crime fiction, baking and spending time with her family and friends.

Office Administrator

Jayne is our office administrator and has worked with us since 2003. She grew up on a farm in the area and has an active interest in farming and the countryside. As well as the general office duties and telephone enquiries she organises the farm visits, riding school inspections and tries to organise the vets. Outside of work, Jayne is a mum and likes to get adventurous in the kitchen.

Elizabeth joined Forest House as a part time receptionist in February 2017. She lives in Burton Leonard where she enjoys walking her springer spaniel, Poppy. Born a farmers daughter at Skelton-on-Ure near Ripon, she and her husband are involved with the running of Knaresborough Young Farmers Club where both their children are currently members.

Hollie joined the practice in May 2017 as a marketing receptionist. Hollie studied animal science and has love animals ever since being a child, so this role was perfect! Hollie looks after our clients on the reception desk and also keeps clients informed by managing our social media sites. In her spare time Hollie enjoys horse riding and spending time with her family and friends.

Ruth Warren

Ruth Warren

Receptionist

Ruth has worked at the practice since 2006 as a receptionist. She spends a lot of her time meeting the clients and ensuring that all surgeries run smoothly. She also deals with a variety of enquiries both at the front desk and over the telephone. Ruth is a very enthusiastic distance runner and a few years ago took the trophy for first lady in the tough Great Langdale Marathon. She is very well known in the Tockwith area and can often be seen out and about with her young dalmation Marnie.

Amy Brown

Part-Time Receptionist

Amy has been working as a part-time receptionist since January 2017. She has just finished her A-Levels (currently on a Gap Year) and is extremely looking forward to starting at Edinburgh Vet School in September this year. Amy enjoys being outdoors, whether that's riding or caring for her two horses or walking the two family dogs (a Norwich Terrier and a PBGV). Amy is also part of Felliscliffe Young Farmers and works part-time at a local dairy farm.
